QUANTIFIABLE ASSUMPTION

Note* the following table compares the costs of major energy sources. Figures are copied from a Status Report prepared by the California Energy Commission's 1996 Energy Technology; which examined the costs and market readiness of various energy options. Amounts shown have been converted to CDN dollars.

1996 BALANCED ENERGY COST
FUEL Average Costs (cents per KWH)
Coal
4.8 - 5.5
Gas
3.9 - 5.3
Oil
4.2 - 5.9
Hydro
2.2 - 7.1
Biomass
5.8 - 11.6
Nuclear
11.1 - 14.8

If we take into account the Province's of Quebec and Ontario , they have signed contracts with other energy providers ranging from $ 0.65 to $ 0.12 per KWh. In order to prevent future problems with contract negotiations, Mariah Technologies Inc. proposes a set fee for all of Canada . We believe $ 0.08 for the first 5 years with a definitive agreement in place to increase rates as they apply to mitigating factors, such as; C.O.L.A. and linked to the charge rates the provider charges to the consumer.
